Mastodon - The Hunter 2xLP Deluxe Edition 180gram 45RPM

Sempat kelabakan ketika tahu kalo versi deluxe album ini lumayan mahal. Setelah hunting di Google akhirnya nemu di Suburban Home Records aka Shop Radio Cast dengan harga lebih murah dibanding harga resmi. Plus ongkos kirimnya ga terlalu mencekik.

Ga nyangka bisa nemu ini di webstore dengan harga murah. Di ebay listing terakhirnya nembus 32GBP. Niat pertama tadinya nyari Church of Misery - Houses of the Unholy. Eh, ternyata nemu ini juga. Usahanya lumayan, gw buka halaman Google ampe yang ke 40. Usahanya sepadan dengan apa yang lo dapet. Dirilis Kemado Records. Lo kudu usaha keras buat dapetin ini. DOPE! Cek bidding Ebay disini.

Pengen plat ini sejak 2009 lalu, tapi baru kesampaian sekarang. Udah lumayan RARE! Ini last copy di webstore nya. Japanese murder-obsessed doom kesayangan Rise Above Records. Gue beruntung. Side D nya ada etching oke dan bonus booklet 8 halaman.

Kelelawar Malam 12" Test Press Approved!

Belum kelar dengan split Ghaust/Kelelawar Malam. Grieve Records malah hampir siap merilis S/T LP dari band horror punk Kelelawar Malam. Sementara ini test press nya udah di-approve, jadi kita tunggu aja sebentar lagi (semoga).

100 Bands Seven Inch Comp Vol.1

Sick dan DIY!!! Dua kata yang terlintas kala dapet 7" ini. Berisi 100 band yang mainin lagu noisecore, noisegrind, harshnoise, dll tak lebih dari 12 detik! Edan dan Unik. Wakil dari Indonesia adalah To-Die dan Extreme Decay. Ada juga ahli mincecore Agathocles. Dirilis oleh NHDIYSTREC dari Prancis, kompilasi ini adalah pressing kedua. Berisi booklet DIY fotokopian 28 halaman.

Burning Witch - 4xLP+DVD Box Set (Coming Soon via Southern Lord)

Bener-bener ga sabar nih. Southern Lord bakal ngrilis boxset ini pada akhir tahun 2011. 2 album Burning Witch (Towers dan Rifft Canyon Dreams) yang sebelumnya udah sangat rare bahkan diburu sampe lubang tikus bakal dikemas ulang dalam boxset ciamik. Berikut ini info dari si SOMA.

The BURNING WITCH 4LP boxed set is finally in production after various delays for various reasons. 4LPs will be contained in a black slipcase (heavy printed and side loading black box), with a 42 page 30cm square perfect bound book of artwork and photos, and a few texts.

Towers... & Rift.Canyon.Dreams LPs will have cloned covers (and identical track listing) from the original Slap-A-Ham & Merciless LPs, but printed as Stoughton tip-on style sleeves (and sans inserts).

Towers... LP is cut from the original 1/2" master tape that somehow was missing in all the years between its recording and post 2008 Crippled Lucifer release. Stuart Dahlquist at last managed to unearth said tape a few years ago and the resulting test pressing of this record sounds absolutely incredible. I dont know if I've been involved in a recording before or since which gives me the tactile, tangible satisfaction of said album.

Rift.Canyon.Dreams LP benefits greatly from a remastering for vinyl by Mell Dettmer (who mastered all 4 LPs in fact) and a great cut. Clarity is much improved to these 4 abstruse tracks.

The third vinyl in the set is a 12" with Bleeder & Rift.Canyon.Dreams (2008 mix version) tracks. Fourth LP is an amazing sounding recording of the 1996 live concert at Pioneer Theatre in Seattle (with Greg Anderson also on guitar) with an insert of photos from said concert. That was pre-Towers.. 3rd and 4th vinyls are housed in direct to board sleeves by Stoughton.

We are pleased to announce that Alan Dubin is involved in the project, he is authoring a DVD which contains the 2 known video recordings of the band live: 1996 Pioneer Square Theatre (from original super 8 videotape) and 1997 on Public Access channel 29 "29 Live" (from original super VHS). This DVD will be inserted into a pocket in the perfect bound book. Here is a photo of the capturing process...

All in all this is the complete (and final) retrospective of material from this long defunct group who survived a near miraculous afterlife and memory amongst the faithful. We neglected to include the demo or any rehearsal material as it's not worthy... you can find this all online anyway. We attempt to present it all in its original intention, and the supplementary pieces, in my opinion as art director of the Witch's releases over the past 16 years, follow that original aesthetic closely.

The boxed set will be manufactured in an edition of 1500 copies and available from Southern Lord Recordings this Autumn.

And so, after these long roads, the nails are in the coffin.

Epic Rock Doom dari Rise Above Records. Lucu ngliat videonya. Belagak kayak Misfits, pake make up. Tapi nyanyi nya nge-soul. Overall, versi vinyl nya cukup oke. Debut 7" nya udah sold out kemakan zaman dan mahal gila.

Cloud Mouth - Wrecked. A Live 7" 200 copies only

Dapet setelah Cloud Mouth tour ke Indonesia. Rilisan ini terbatas hanya 200 kopi saja. Cloud Mouth mainin genre punk dengan tempo naik turun dan agak aneh. Rada chaotic, seperti era post-hardcore 90an. Dope lah.

Grieve Record Store udah buka. Kebetulan ada MOSS - Eternal Return rilisan Fuck Yoga Records dan Super-Fi Records. Sangar! Tapi cuma sejenak. Kata temen orang yang motong sampulnya pake cutter tumpul. Sleeve nya silkscreen, tapi kayak dari karton bekas. Truly DIY sih, lumayan, tapi kenapa ga pake cutter yang lebih tajem?! *lho

Jangan Ketipu Penjual Plat Bekas

Baru saja mendapatkan plat Deep Purple - Who Do We Think We Are gatefold cover. Harganya cukup "mencekik" dengan kondisi plat yang banyak scuffs dan hairline. Kover juga dalam kondisi Very Good. Saya mendapatkannya dari seorang kolekdol, yang sering berburu barang2 antik. Karena piringan hitam tengah naik daun, harga jualnya juga sering ngasal. Asal dapat untung gede, tanpa melihat kondisi dan kualitas plat. Rolling Stones - Exile on Main Street dijual 400rb (!!!) dengan kondisi kover sobek. Yang menyebalkan adalah plat The Who - Tommy, yang cocok untuk tempat sampah tapi dijual dengan harga 100rb. Nah, plat Deep Purple ini adalah hasil pertukaran dengan plat The Who tadi (karena saya sebelumnya membeli plat The Who tadi..hufff).

Philips Vintage Turntable

Vintage turntable selalu menyenangkan buat saya. Ketika seorang teman memberi info ada yang menjual turntable Philips vintage, saya langsung tertarik. Setelah janjian ketemuan, saya segera disodori barangnya. Still sounds great! I'm hooked! Saya menjajalnya dengan plat Shocking Blue dan The Who... sound yang keluar benar2 vintage, karena platnya juga sudah tua.

BRMC - Beat the Devil's Tattoo 2xLP 45rpm Microgroove

Lumayan,,,sebuah album terbaru milik band psikedelik rock asal San Francisco, BRMCCCCCCCCC. Saya tak terlalu suka rock n roll ala The Libertines, dkk. Tapi BRMC lain, mereka adalah gabungan unsur pemadat rock dengan ambisi biker dan attitude rebel.

Nails, muncul dari otak-otak musisi hardcore: Todd Jones – Vocals, Guitar, John Gianelli – Bass, Taylor Young – Drums. Rilisan awal dirilis di StreetCleaner Records, dan yang ini dirilis oleh Southern Lord Records. Fantastis

Nemu dari forum. Akhirnya kesampaian juga memiliki album ini. Agak mahal, tapi sepadan dengan semuanya.

Goatsnake - Flower of Disease LP Repress

Akhirnya...terbeli juga repress dari Goatsnake album Flower of Disease yang dirilis oleh Southern Lord. Stoner doom mantap yang berisi orang macam Greg Anderson. Kurang Dog Days LP yang belum dapet... (Stealing in the House of God masih mahal jadi belum masuk list). Tapi yang sangat disayangkan adalah cara tokonya dalam mengirim plat ini. EDAN! cuma dibungkus pake tas kresek aka tas plastik! Ga bisa dibayangkan ternyata platnya bisa survive dari Jakarta ke Jogjakarta. Buat tokonya, next time use cardboard mailer ya!

Sleep Dopesmoker LP menembus angka 150 dollar lebih

Sial. Sangat sial. Ketika menjelajah dan mondar-mandir di Ebay, saya mencari beberapa album favorit yang belum sempat dimiliki. Sejak 2 tahun lalu, saya mengincar album Dopesmoker dari Sleep. Harga di tahun 2009 tergolong masih aman, dikisaran 16-20 dollar-an. Namun apa daya, album ini sudah menembus angka 150 dollar lebih, dengan jumlah 25 bidder. Sementara album Holy Mountain berharga 50 dollar-an (Ebay). Ketika mencoba googling, beberapa record distributor juga sudah kehabisan stok album Dopesmoker ini. Mampus! Apa daya, Sleep - Dopesmoker belum bisa dimiliki. Fenomena apa ini?
